What kind of boundary condition should be applied to the edge of PML region?

Hi, I'm trying to calculate confinement loss of optical fibers. What kind of boundary condition should be applied to the edge of PML region (the red line in the figure attached)?

you may use scattering boundary conditions (SBC) on external most boundaries but for PML you can omit it as well...
