Electric field lines mapping

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear all,
I am new to COMSOL multiphysics software. I am doing electrospinning in which polymer nanofibers of the order of nanometer diameters are produced by applying a high voltage(of the order of 10-15 kV) at the tip of a syringe and collecting the fibers on a grounded collector of aluminium sheet which kept at a distance of 10-15 cm from the tip. Can anybody please help me to figure out the way to map the electric field lines from the syringe tip to the grounded collector.

Regards
Shareef

Hi Shareef-

Try adding the electrostatics physics and add point charge for tip of needle and add rectangular shape for your aluminum collector. Add electric potentials and materials and you should be able to map the electric potential. Add "streamlines" to electric potential in results to see the field lines.
