Is it possible to define a parameter like a domain volume, face area etc. belong to certain object or domain in our design?

I am thinking to assign a current source for or external current density to my structure. I already know that I can define my objects by parameter to make it easier to use their volume, surface area later on. However, isn't there any other way to define an object's face area as a parameter just by mentioning its domain's name and face number followed by a command like surf, vol or something similar?
