Create 2D spheres of random dimension

Hi everybody.
I'm starting to develop a model for the evaluation of the effective thermal conductivity across a porous layer of little stones. Does exist a way to generate 2D spheres with random radius? I've read about the random function but I'm not able to work with it. Can someone help me? Thanks
