Matching of geometry units and physics units

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello everyone,

(a) Is it necessary to match the units of geometry and physics model parameters? I am working with a 2-D coupled spatio-temporal population dynamics model in COMSOL version 4.4, where the unit of length is meter (m), and I am visualizing the output in the scale of milisecond (ms). The physics model parameters have the unit in meter and sec. Is it required to convert msec to sec while entering the physics parameters values?

Thanks in advance.

Jeet

In COMSOL, you can enter each input with its own units by using square brackets: 5[m]+3[in]=507.62[cm].
COMSOL takes care of the conversions for you.
Best,
Jeff
