Rectangular fonction width

Hello,
I am having a problem with a rectuglar function, that I use to define a boundary condition. when the width is greater than 2.1 I everything works fine, but when the width is smaler, the system doesnt "detect" the variation. i decrease the step value.... but still it doesnt detect the function. what is wrong?
