temperature boundary condition in heat transfer in solids

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

I have modeled a simple homogeneous wall where I apply a temperature profile (T(t)) at one surface as a boundary condition and convective heat flux at the other. The rest sides are insulation. After I run the model, I evaluate the average surface temperature at the surface I gave the temperature boundary condition and I see that it is different from the profile I had given. Does anyone know why this could happen? It's a transient study and the mesh size and time step do not change this problem.
