Boundary modeling still possible with COMSOL 4.x ?

Creating a geometry like the one you see attached (marked red) was very easy in COMSOL 3.5 using the boundary modeling technique. I created some points and connected them with spline functions which was very intuitive.
I failed doing so with COMSOL 4.1 and just managed to create it with a rather complex boolean interaction of circles intersecting each other (see attached model file).
How would you model this geometry?
Thank you, Sebastian
