Truss in fatigue modelling

Is the fatigue model only available for solid mechanical modeling? How to simulate the fatigue model for truss modeling (edge molder)?

Hi,

The Fatigue Module is to a large extent is geared towards multiaxial stress states. It can deal with solids, shells, and membranes. In a truss element, there is only a single stress component, so in most cases the fatigue evaluation can be done using pen and paper.

Furthermore, a truss representation is usually an abstraction where the actual geometry of the bar ends is ignored. That is however where fatigue problems would occur in the real structure.
