We verify some information about moving mesh : it seems that it is well known in the litterature. But can we have an example or simple tutorial to understand how to implement with the case of laser engraving ?
Thanks a lot

Hello Manuel,
This blog post on thermal ablation should help get you on the right track. Unfortunately the files are not available in version 4.2a, so hopefully you can update your installation.
Best,
Jeff

Dear Jeff Hiller,
We try to implement your example in Comsol 4.2 : Modeling Thermal Ablation for Material Removal, due to our experience in this version.
In the case of 1D, it works, and we obtain the same results as in the blog.
We try in the case of 2D axis symetric, but we have problem of convergence, for example inversed mesh. The consequence is the apparition of corrugation on the surface, and not apparition of ablation.
What are the parameter of the solver to obtain convergence ?
Hoping for your help, I think this topic can be helpful for many case.

Hello Manuel,
We have released 12 versions since 4.2a, with many improvements to the solvers. It is unfortunately not clear whether you could make that model converge by simply tweaking settings in 4.2a.
My recommendation would be that you update your installation to 5.4.
Best regards,
Jeff
