A problem about creating a piecewise function

Hello everyone I am trying to create a piecewise function.But, the actual graph of the function is different from what I want.I want to create a piecewise function just like step function :going directly from one value to another,and no transition region between two value. （I have chosen no smoothing mode）However,the actual graph uses the oblique line instead of the perpendicular line(shown in the picture). Does anyone have some idea about this problem? Thanks in advance, Ang.
