Unknown dependent state component when using mass flow rate

Hi,

when I run a simulation using the Laminar Flow or Turbulent Flow interface and I use as inlet boundary condition a mass flow rate, under Dependent Variables (under the Study node) I get a new state component called Pmfinl1. Does anyone know the meaning of it? And in general the meaning of "State"?
