Propagating light in an optical fiber

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi all,

I am trying to simulate light propagation (Gaussian or any arbitrary field) inside an optical fiber. I am unable to find the proper way to simulate it correctly using the wave optics module. Should it be using the beam envelope method? Where does the field is inserted analitically? using ports or maybe by the scattered boundaries?! If someone has a working simulation i would be happy to hear how it works.

Thanks,

Shlomi.
