Console saving for different version

Comsol is insisting that files have to saved for version 5.4 even though I'm using version 5.3. This is a problem because Live Link for version 5.3 isn't able to work with these files. Why does comsol want to save in the format of a different version, and is there any way I can save the files to work with Live Link for 5.3?
