Multiple step simulation not confining to geometry

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I am running a multiple step beam simulation that has several stationary steps followed by a time-dependent step. During the stationary steps, the beam retains its shape however during the time-dependent step it does not. Does anyone have suggestions as to why this is the case? I have attached images and the file to this post.

Nicholas,

might be a visualization effect. Have you checked the scaling in the deformation subnode?

Cheers Edgar

I am relatively new with COMSOL, where can I find the deformation subnode? The only "scaling" term I can find is in the dependent variables in the solver settings.

It is a subnode in many plot types. Do a right click on the plot node to see it. Often the automatic scaling is not appropriate.
