Hi everyone

currently in our institute we are building a workstation to be used in CFD and computational simulations, so, Comsol will take advantage of a dual-CPU build?

for example, we have two options for the same price: 1) dual Xeon 2670 V3 - 24 cores/48 threads 2) Ryzen 3600X - 6 corest/12 threads

both setups will have 128Gb of RAM, 750W PSU, 1Tb HHD and 500Gb SSD.

I don't know how to compare between processor brands/types, but more cores is generally preferred. Many large-model computations do much better if you have a lot of fast cores and a lot of fast memory! See also: https://www.comsol.com/support/knowledgebase/866
