Modeling Specular Reflection

Hi, I'm wondering what's the best way to model components with specular reflection. I noticed that the surface to surface radiation module can do it, but the parallel_plates_diffuse_specular example uses Mathematical Particle Tracing. Why use one module over another? Thanks Charles
