Summing the volume values in a plane

Hi,
I would like to ask you for an advise on how to calculate(sum) and plot the values of a quantity, from a volume (domain) in just a plane.
To make myself clear:
I have a volume of sample (a domain) in which I calculate the relevant quantity distribution in the volume.
I would now like to sum all the values in the volume in a 2D plane and plot this with height.
It’s like having many Cut planes and joining the solutions in each plane by adding the values – summing them, having in the end just a plane with the corresponding values from the sum of the volume above it, and plotting it.
I need to do this in order to evaluate how much quantity value (can be anything) would a particle get exposed to by traveling through the domain.
Thank you very much for your help.
Paula
