Damage Modelling

Hi

I am currently trying to model hydraulic fracture propagation within granite using an isotropic scalar damage law. I am basing the law I am using off of https://www.comsol.ch/paper/mechanical-damage-models-for-concrete-63781 and https://uk.comsol.com/paper/modeling-cracking-in-quasi-brittle-materials-using-isotropic-damage-mechanics-40301 . In both of these cases, the internal variable kappa (which denotes tha maximum equivalent strain) is modelled as a domain ODE.

I am attempting to model the internal variable kappa (denoting the maximum equivalent strain) as a state variable, and I have defined a nominal stress tensor which replaces the standard stress tensor within the weak expression of the linear elastic material node.

Upon attempting to run the programme I am receiving the following error: Failed to find consistent initial values. Segregated Step 11 Singular matrix. Last time step is not converged.

I have posted my model, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
