Strong spatial gradient of dependent variables around a point boundary

When computing and plotting the gradients of two dependent variables (temperature and alpha) x time in a simulation of an axisymmetric geometry, the results show extremelly high values for both gradients in a very locallized region, around a boundary point (top-right), as shown in animations 1 and 2 attached, even though the surface maps of the dependent variables do not indicate the presence of those high local gradients (shown in animations 3 and 4).
The temperature gradient is obtained from COMSOL internal variable ht.gradTmag, while alpha is computed by the expression: sqrt(alphar^2+alphaz^2).
Do you have any idea to solve this problem?
