Air box around an object : heat transfer

I'm simulating the heat transfer between two bars of copper due to a curring passing through (1 terminal + 1 ground on the other side of the second bar in the joule heating module). In order to cool this down, I put a convective cooling due to the air around the object. Should I draw an air box as well? For instance, if I would like to simulate the same joule effect on a more complicated object (will be the next step) , then the convection in the air will influence the result (as well as the radiation). Is that automatically taken into account (knowing that I don't have a specific air flow like in the heat_sink tuturial example)?
Thank you in advance.
