Calculating von Mises stress on the winding of a transformer at energization

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear All,

For my project, I must use the COMSOL software to simulate a single-phase transformer and calculate different forces on its winding during transformer enrgization. In addition, I need to calculate the von Mises stress on its winding during its energization. I simualte the transformer by using AC/DC module with transient (time dependant) study. In doing so, I used magnetic field and ekectrical circuit physics. Now, flux density (B), magnetic field strength (H), different currents and voltages as well as different forces on the winding can be calculated. However, I must calculate von Mises stress which can not be obtained in the aboementioned physics. My problem is that how this stress can be obtained in this transient study? I really appreciate it if you could help me to find the answer.

Best regards, Amir
