A confusing point between tutorial "Plasmonic_Wire_Grating" and "Periodic_Boundary_Condition"

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi all,

Recently I'm confused by the different periodic condition settings between tutorial "Plasmonic_Wire_Grating" and "Periodic_Boundary_Condition".

In the "Plasmonic_Wire_Grating" periodic condition setting, it tells us to just set k vector along the periodic direction, regardless of direction y in 2D which is the normal incident direction.

However in the "Periodic_Boundary_Condition" periodic condition setting, we are asked to set both the periodic direction and normal incident direction. They should have the same magnitude and direction as the k vector for the plane wave.

Could you guys help me to explain this?

Thank you.
