extinction coefficient

hello guys,
I wanna calculate the extinction coefficient of a single gold nano particle or something. As my major is not related to RF calculation, I cannot obtain anything about extinction coefficient. so.. would you guys please suggest some examples about that? or what can i try to obtain knowledge?
