Remove interior boundaries of parametric surfaces

For a parametric surface, i.e., a bump, x=rho*cos(theta), y=rho*sin(theta), z=z0/2*(1+cos(pi*rho/r0)), where rho runs from 0 to r0, and theta runs for 0 to 2pi; z0 is the height of the bump and r0 is the radius. When I export the mesh, how can I get the true boundary of the bump, i.e., r=r0 at z=0, and discard the two boundaries z=z0/2*(1+cos(pi*rho/r0)) at theta = 0 and 2pi since theta covers the entire 2pi?
Thanks,
Tony
