I am working on a project which involves a spinning cast iron disk brake component. I have made some different CAD models that need testing to see at what point the rotational forces will cause them to crack.
There is a force applied on the back of the disk equal to the air pressure in the line times the area of the disk in contact with the pads. I need to increase the rotational velocity until fracture occurs, and was wondering which study type would work best for this experiment.
Thank you,
-Mike
