How does COMSOL use the incremental theory of plasticity?

I am new to COMSOL, and I have a simple question on how COMSOL use the incremental theory of plasticity.
Incremental theory of plasticity will need derivative of yield function on stress components (i.e. d(ep)=d(lambda)*[d(f)/d(sigma)]
How does the previous calculation execute in COMSOL ? or where can I find the comments on this in all of those manuals ?
Thanks a lot !
