Time-dependent transport parameter

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear all,

I am solving a PDE of the type dC/dt = -D (dc^2/dx^2) and everything works fine when D is constant.

However, if I replace D with an ad hoc time dependent expression, D(t), although the PDE is actually solved, I start having serious mass conservation problems.

Does anyone have experience with time-dependent diffusion constants or conductivity? Any advice?

Thanks in advance!
