help me for pcf modeling

hi

i 'm doing a project about pcf(photonic crystal fiber), i choose the 2D pependicular hybrid-mode wave and select mode analysis, i set the subdomain & boundary & in properties i set the "specify eigen values using" for effective mode index & ... & generate mesh for that .
but i don't know what's the setting for finding effective mode index in solver parameters ? , i set it to a greater value of core index, but the result isn't good and don't show the effective mode(HE11 mode) and effective index
please help me for this problem

Hi

I beleive its what is already discussed a couple of times on the forum, try a search (just left for the [Go] just above) try Effective index, or mode index,

there you will find discussion susch as

hi dear,

thank you very much for your answer,but can i specify one propagation mode (for example HE11) in the femlab?
i want "neff" for basic propagation mode in the fiber that propagate maximum of power in the fiber & i don't want the maximum of the "neff"
but the femlab give me the maximum of the "neff", please help me for my problem.
