activate geometry with time

I have a question about how I can activate a certain geometry after a certain time during my simulation.
I attached a file of my model where you can see 3 layers and I want to be able to activate them one after the other after a certain time: start with the bottom layer, activate the next layer after some time and so on.
Is it also possible to build my simulation without the layers (for example just activate one cm each 100s until the whole geometry is built)?
