Mechanical coupling of two tubes in a 2D cross-section

I have following problem:
I want to couple two tubes in a 2D cross-section. Their movement is constrained in x direction. Both tubes have their own resonance which I implemented via a spring foundation. Since I modeled the geometry in cross-section, there is no coupling between both tubes. Is it possible to couple them without adding additional geometries? In the next step I want to add air between the tubes to investigate the additional effect.
Thanks
