transient study of recombination rate in an LED

has someone ever tried to study the recombination rate as function of time ("transient electroluminescence")?
In a similar work "Sentaurus" (1) was used, so I am guessing Comsol will be able to do the same but I cannot figure out how to use an already existing model from Comsol model library (gan double heterojunction) to perform that kind of study.
any help is greatly appreciated!
