Volume shrinkage of powder layer during melting and solidification

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear friends

I want to simulate volume shrinkage of metal powder layer during melting and solidification.

I am applying a moving gaussian heat source on a powder layer which melts and solidifies , I want to know the shrinkage for a predefined porosity .

Please tell me how to do this as I am not able to find any good way to account it.

Thanks in advance
