V4 RF What increases computing time?

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

hi,

Does the it the physical size of the model or the electrical size that causes increase in computing time excessively, though no memory error comes.

So I need to know where to focus on physical or electrical size for reduced computing time?

Thanks

Irfan

Hi

there are many issues: first certainly the number of DoF (degrees of freedom) mainly related to the meshing density or the volume. To improve, try reducing from 3D to 2D and use symmetry.

Then you have non linear effects that makes the sovler iterate a lot, try starting in linear mode (check your varables, do you need material non linearities etc

further you have time stepping if you are in transient, do you really need all those intermediate times ? are there weays to analyse the system over a shorter time period ...

Can you use a modal approach instead of transient etc

Good luck
