what is the meaning of function

Dear all,
I am having difficulty understanding the flgauss function in the MOSFET model.
i want to produce a IDVG IDVD family of curves.
why we have'nt defined the threshold of the device . why we have'nt set the materials from the library....??
any help is highly appreciated......
