Modeling with Thin Diffusion Barrier

In The Transport of Diluted Species Interface, there is a boundary of "Thin Diffusion Barrier".
Can this be used as a boundary of a Geometry?
Another question, when it is activated, all of four boundaries of the 2D mesh cannot be applied with the "Thin Diffusion Barrier".
What should I do to active it?
