Weight of a line - Comsol

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi everyone, I drew a polyline in Comsol: (0,0) and (1,0). In the Object Properties I read weight (1,1). What does weight means? A line (or a point) has a weight? If I change these values in 0, the software gives me the error: curve control point must be positive. I don't understand this message. Could you help me?

Thank you for your time.

Hi Gennaro,
This is a reference to the fact that polylines are made of rational Bezier curves, so each control point has an associated weight. See wikipedia or the User's Guide, version 3.5a, page 48 for more info.
Jeff
PS: You should really upgrade!

Hi Gennaro,
I don't think it's a stupid question :)
We try not to delete questions from the forum unless we really have to. The point of the forum is that others can learn from your questions.
