CFD for mass spectrometer inlet

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi everyone,

I am trying to simulate the free jet expansion at reduced pressure right after a mass spectrometer inlet orifice. I am not quite sure what physics to choose. The pressure is about 1 torr, so it's not a free molecular flow. The laminar flow module that I use for the right of my module are not fit for this either since the laminar flow module handles Ma< 0.3, but at the expansion the flow velocity would be supersonic.

Any help is appreciated.
