I'm trying to simulate Cherenkov radiation in Comsol. In theory I have some charged particle moving at constant velocity in the presence of some dielectric material. I only want to know the resulting electric field. I do not need to calculate the influence of this field on the source particle.
So, how can I simulate this muving charge? I'm trying to add External Current Density in MagneticFields (mf), or add Surface Current Density EMW Transient (temw), but get zero result. I can't even see this current density on the resulting plots.
Did anyone tried to simulate cherenkov radiation in Comsol? I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.
Viktor.
