Shading effects on a ground

Greetings.
My project deals with shading effects on the ground. I am required to find the effect of the shade cloth like PE cloth on a farming field, and model the temperature, wind, humidity and other distributions with and without the shade cloth. I wouldn't know if I can do this in COMSOL or if I switch to opensource like OpenFoam. How shall I proceed? Are there any papers / articles related to them.

Solar radiation is a capability available in the Heat Transfer Module, see www.comsol.com/model/sun-s-radiation-effect-on-two-coolers-placed-under-a-parasol-12825 and www.comsol.com/heat-transfer-module .
