How does COMSOL evaluate curl in a 2D simulation

Hi

I was performing a 2D simulation using the RF Module of COMSOL 5.2a.
In Component → Electromagnetic Waves, Frequency Domain → Wave Equation, Electric → Equation View, expanding the list of all variables, I found that "emw.curlEx" was defined as "emw.alphaOOP*Ey" and "emw.curlEy" was defined as "-emw.alphaOOP*Ex". What is the "emw.alphaOOP" function?
Such problem did not occur in a 3D simulation where the "emw.curlEx" was simply defined as "curlEx". But I need to do some modifications to a 2D simulation. So I raise this question.

Thanks!
