Simulating vortex beams

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

I am simulating propagation of vectorial beams using COMSOL, where I have a port where I define the electric field by modifying the Gaussian field equation. When I see the electric field distribution after running simulation, I see four lobes in the x-y plane with no field at the center. It looks like a distorted doughnut. Please, can somebody suggest where am I going wrong?
