Cracks

Hello all,
I have a simple question. How can I implement cracking in brittle materials in comsol, I have spent a long time searching fro information in the documentation but haven't found anything appropriate.
For the material i have the material loaded with forces and thermal flux, and its maximum stress strain properties.
I just don't know how to implement the cracks or their propagation. Any advice would be appricated.

I do not really know.
I imagine that you could define an internal boundary, and a binding force in the shape of a Heavyside function, below which there is a large binding force that keeps the materials (i.e. their faces) attached... and above which there is no more binding... Maybe you can model it as a Fracture Energy or a material strength (i.e. energy/unit of surface area)...
Check as well the posts on dleamination or interface cracking....
