Effective Medium Approximation of nanomaterials in a dielectric medium

The below post is related to an archived discussion

I am currently investigating the effect that concentration, orientation and size of nanomaterials embedded in a polymer matrix have on the relative permittity of the membrane. I am creating a model using COMSOL and need to implement effective medium approximations into the model before I can begin carry out the various simulations. I would like to know what Effective Medium Theory COMSOL uses already as a default setting and how to add in other theories. The theories I wish to implement are Looyenga, Bergman and Yamada. I am a realtive novice on COMSOL having only started on it a few weeks ago and I am using my universities student liscence. Any advice on how to best do this would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Tom
