To simulate two different sizes of particles (both less than 1 mm) as a solid suspension in water

I have to simulate flow of water containing coal particles mixed with sand particles, both having different particle diameters, flowing in a channel. How can I assign two different particle sizes?

Please help by providing some steps or tutorials.
