Homogenization: Implement a "change of argument" for a dependent variable

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear all,

I'm a beginner on COMSOL and I have some problem on the definition of variable.

Indeed, I try to model a scaling problem by the homogenization theory (expansion asymptotic). I see how to proceed for the Homogenized and the cell problem but not for the DNS: my goal is to compare the Homogenized/DNS.

The exact equation for the DNS is

To do that I need my variable u (dependent variable for the 2D PDE module) under a contracted form u(X/epsilon) where epsilon is a small parameter (let's say 0.01) and X=(x,y) (the right-hand side represents the space coordinate in COMSOL).

Do you know how to implement this "change of variable"? Is there a possibility to define the argument of a variable?

Adel
