Coil with litz wire in 2D

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hey there :)

I want to model a coil with litz wire in 2D surrounded by soft iron. The coil should have 10 turns and the wire should consist of 8 litz. So all in all there are 80 litz wires. To investigate the exact current density, i modelled every litz in the coil. But the problem is, that i don't know how to connect each litz wires together. How can i set, which litz is parallel and which litz is in series to each other.

I hope someone can help me

Thx Max

Hi Max,

your objective should be achieveable by using a coil group. This makes the subfeature 'Domain Group' available under the coil node. There you define each litz winding as a domain group, making them parallel. All domain groups are treated like a serial circuit. Check the documentation too.

Cheers Edgar
