Tracking particle move distance with laminar flow

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi, I am studying particle tracing module with laminar flow following "How to simulate particle tracing in a laminar static mixer" on Youtube. so, I made simple cylinder structure with 0.0002m/s inlet velocity and simulated for both laminar flow and particle tracing module. Inlet of fluid and particles is left and outlet is right. My question is that particles move about 23mm at 1000s, as I attached image below, but I calculated fluid distance is about 20mm(0.0002m/s x 1000s = 0.02m) at 1000s. This seems not make sense, particles moved earlier than fluid in the result of simulation, I think i probably missed some steps, or simulated incroeectly. Please, help me if anyone knows about this. Thanks,
