I'm computing a model via LiveLink with Comsol 4.2a and Matlab 2011b. It's an electrostatics model with nothing fancy in the physics / geometry.
The model solves correctly, and I am now turning up the mesh resolution (very high). There is a delay (which increases with mesh node count) between finishing meshing and beginning to see any CPU utilization / any status messages in the 'Progress' popup window - that is, there are no % completion printouts, only hyphens.
I'm wondering what Comsol is doing during this time, and if there's anything I can do to decrease the time required?
Currently, it's using very little CPU power, ~%15 on my 6 core 2.66 GHz machine, and with a mesh which took 19 minutes to create, Solving has been initializing (in this manner where I see no progress indicated) for ~4 hours.
Thanks!
