PML Implementation from 4.1 onwards

I am wondering if anyone could kindly direct me any paper/book source for PML implementation for 4.1 & 4.2.
Especially how to explain equation
t' = (t/t_w)^n*(1-i)*lambda*F in the documentation file pp 29.
and how to tackle scaling F and order n. The default values 1 and 1 do not work for my design. I tried to looked up this in "the Finite Element Method in Electromagnetics" book but did not find it.
Or if you can briefly explain me about how to set up the parameters. I used PML implementation before in 3.5 and it seems the implementation is quite different for 4.1 onwards.
Thank you very much. I appreciate your help.
